Been wanting to try this one out for sometime now and I have to say wow what a really excellent game and extremely addictive. I currently own Need for Speed Underground – PS2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 – Xbox and nothing quiet matches this game, it knocks spots off the rest.
The most notorious street racer is back with the fastest police pursuit chases and head-to-head races with the most elusive street drivers in the Blacklist. This game provides many different options Career mode being the main story to the game, where you work off the Blacklist of drivers and build up your street credit allowing you to win cars you race against.
You earn cash for these races then you can customise, upgrade and supe up your car unlocking advanced features to tune up your car if you earn enough winnings. Other options are the challenge series a mix of time trials and evading the cops there are 68 challenges to work through and this lets you practice some more before you enter the career mode.
Quick race gives you a taster for the game and may be if you just want to chill and play the game. The split screen mode is for when you want to challenge your mates at the game I’m rather fond of the speed trap option allowing you to race with your mates in the fastest time possible, each area on the track has speed camera sections if your fast enough and win it cumulates up your speeds at the end. An excellent game a must have for the collection

This is an excellent extreme arcade racer brought to you by the creators Electronic Arts and was released for the Playstation 2 on September 27, 2002. The themed track environments snow, jungle, desert provide richly rendered scenery with great effects such as clouds of dust and snow thrown up by cars makes for a realistic and fluid driving simulation.
This has to be one of my many favourite racing games, it mainly appeals because of the game play and it’s very addictive. The main objective of the game is speed, winning races to gain more cash to buy better models of cars. Damaging the cars results in penalties and loses of some of your winnings in the race to repair the damage.
An exciting and unique part to the game is the mini time trials, which are called shox zones each segment of the racing tracks are tallied individually for Bronze, Silver and Gold awards depending on your speed. If you collect enough Gold’s in a straight line you get the Shox zone, which appears as a warp hole and you have to catch up to be inside it this makes you go faster within the game if you win 3 gold’s in a line this will unlock additional bonus cars. If you win the race you get the option of the “Platinum” alternative to speed race against another car to win that car.
A hugely engrossing game fast and furious and is very competitive great to play with friends. I found the split screen rather difficult to view even on a big screen its better to pass the controller over to play it individually. Overall I would recommend this game, it’s a bit dated now but great games never date.
