CIW Associate Certification
Today I passed my first CIW Foundations (1D0-510) exam otherwise known as a Certified Internet Webmaster Associate Certification. This is a web design certification program more commonly recognised in the USA at the moment than in the UK, however it is starting to become more widely known.
I went through a 13 week training programme through a training provider called YouTrain located in Stirling, Scotland. So I had reading through some seriously large text based books each book covering the various topics all related to passing the first CIW Foundations Exam. At the time of writing the current version was CIW Version 5 Foundations Series.

- Site Development Foundations
- Networking Technology Foundations
I sat my first CIW Foundations Exam at the New Horizons Computer Learning Centre located in Edinburgh, Canonmills this is a Prometric Testing Centre. When I finally finished the exam to my surprise I passed 100% on the test and was really shocked but relieved.
I was then informed to login to the CIW site in order for them to send out the certification and confirmation of passing the exam this could take up to 6 weeks they reckoned, however I still passed and that’s what counts. Once I had this confirmation and the certificate through the door I would then become a Certified CIW Associate. My next objective is to start studying for my CIW Site Designer Exam, which if passed will allow me to become a CIW Professional.
