Wi-Fi hotspot coverage for City of Edinburgh
Woo hoo are we finally getting technologically advanced and live up to the standard that England has implemented about a year ago.
A firm called The Cloud, based in London is behind the initiative in providing Britain with wireless internet connectivity.
Edinburgh is one of the many cities to receive Wi-Fi coverage as is many cities down south. This project aims to provide internet access for millions of people using their laptops or hand-held devices. This will bring major advantages for businesses, councils, government & education allowing people to work effectively and communicate in their local area without the requirement of cables.
A Scotsman article dated wed 4 Jan 2006 reports Wi-Fi will be implemented in the major cities, however no such dates or prices are specified as yet, so we just have to wait and look forward to the future.
