Sony Ericsson W800i – Mobile Phone

Sony Ericsson W800i This is one mobile phone I would really like to get my hands on it packs a lot of good features. However it doesn't appear to support 3G & its main feature is its MP3 player. We can't go wrong with Sony for music however with limited battery life people would probably want a separate MP3 player with more storage. I've been impressed with Sony Ericsson phones as I still have my SE T610 and it's still a well used phone.

I like the architecture of this phone and Sony's UI (User Interface) I find is very user friendly. With the addition of the joystick in the centre helps for easily navigating and playing games.

I attended a recent Macromedia Online Seminar called: Creating Mobile UI Interfaces for Rich User Experiences, 01st December 2005. This highlighted to be probably the first mobile phones to support Macromedia Flash. As they demonstrate, you can create your own wallpaper in Flash and then transfer the *.swf file through the USB/Bluetooth connection on to the phone and set it as an animated wallpaper. Hopefully more phones will support Flash content & provide us developers with more versatility across the wider spectrum.

Madagascar – Animation

Polar Express Here is an animated feature by Dreamworks the creators of great releases such as Shrek, Antz & Shark Tale. Comes Madagascar based in a Zoo set in New York’s Central Park. Some well recognised voices by Lion (Ben Stiller), Giraffe (David Schwimmer), Zebra (Chris Rock) & various others.

This is one of the funniest films for a long while. The mafia-penguins make the film and are very amusing. Personally I think this film could appeal to all ages. It was a good attempt and not a great deal to fault with it, however it don’t beat the Shrek movies & the graphics aren’t the best not like Pixar can do.

XBOX 360 Guinea Pigs

XBox 360 I may be more relieved not to have purchased an Xbox 360 from what I have been reading. I reckon I will hold off & wait till the release of the Sony PlayStation 3. Either by that time Microsoft might have ironed out all their bug errors or at least its rival Sony PlayStation 3 sounds more robust and possibly has better features.

The BBC News Site has reported several crashes by owners. Different errors appearing while playing the various games that are released with the new console. Microsoft has provided a help line stating that they will repair or replace the unit if errors keep occurring.

It also appears that 1 in every 8 Xbox's are faulty (they are either overheating or the CD reader fails). This sounds terrible for just releasing a brand new console. What do we expect from Microsoft though? We as users are the guinea pigs. Let's test our broken console on the general public, we can take their money while they do all our testing for us. Well this is outrageous considering the price we have to fork out for it. I just hope they can fix these issues soon, because we aren’t going to have many happy puppies for Christmas. That being the case the long waiting on new batches for pre-orders is infuriating customers.
